These actions are aimed at community groups who want to take action together for the nature in their local community. For advice on starting a community group, get in touch with Interlink RCT.

Join the RCT LNP Community Action for Nature Group
We are a subset of the RCT LNP and we meet four times a year to discuss potential action we could take for nature in our communities. Join the group by contacting us
2.
Toad Patrols
In a number of areas of RCT, toads are threatened by cars as they migrate to the breeding ponds in early spring. If you've noticed this in your local area, why not start a toad patrol?

Keep Wales Tidy
Take part in litter picks and river clean ups, or start your own, find out more at Keep Wales Tidy.

Hedgehog Highways
Help Hedgehogs in your local community by working with your neighbours to connect your gardens with a hedgehog highway.

Living Landscapes
Discover the special places on your doorstep and take people out to nature to help them to value it. Your local green spaces are also great places to discover and record nature.

Pontyclun Environment Group
'As a grassroots group, we value the opportunity of joining the Community Action for Nature workshops for two key reasons: the first is the opportunity to learn from people with more expertise than us and to be put on the right track on issues that are actually quite complex, such as tree-planting. The second is to meet people in the area who are also taking action on nature-related topics and share practice- what's worked well and what hasn't! This keeps our enthusiasm going for new projects and ideas. Almost all of our members work full-time so an element of inspiration and vision is important to encourage them to commit their free time to volunteer activities via Pontyclun Environment Group'
