This part of the Action Plan focuses on the actions required to protect and enhance specific habitats and species of importance for Wales and for Rhondda Cynon Taf and to improve ecosystem resilience.

The habitats and species have been chosen by the Local Nature Partnership, combining local knowledge, expert contributions, and the Environment (Wales) Act S.7 list.

The actions focus on what needs to be done to make a difference, some are funded, others are aspirational. Again, the actions have been developed by the Local Nature Partnership, and the Partnership will monitor progress.

The focus is on habitats, and the species they support.  There is a separate section of general actions that apply to all habitats and species and another for species with specific action requirements. Each habitat has a list of species that can be found associated with it in RCT. Please note that this is not an exhaustive list.
